Police are investigating an incident in which a reveller collapsed and died after walking out of a bar in Kasarani, Nairobi.

Attendants at the Yes We Can Bar and Restaurant said Georgina Wambui Njuguna, 39, had been partaking at the joint for the better part of Monday, February 20 when she decided to leave at about 11 pm.

Witnesses said she walked a few meters out and collapsed.

Police said the body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.

Elsewhere, police are investigating an incident in which a construction worker died after falling from the third floor of a house in Parklands, Nairobi.

John Mwaura died after sustaining serious head injuries following the fall on Monday afternoon.

He was with other workers at the site when he slid off as he leaned on an edge on a staircase, police and witnesses said.

He fell to the basement of the house and died on the site. Medics from Avenue Hospital arrived at the scene and declared him dead there.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending probe.

Such cases of workers falling from higher buildings while on duty have been on the rise.

Nairobi Police boss Adamson Bungei said they have teamed up with officials from the National Construction Authority to investigate the incidents.
