Six-month jail term for man who beat wife, removed her tooth

Another man who assaulted his wife on Valentine’s Day for allegedly cheating on him was charged with assault.

A man who beat up his wife leading to her losing one of her teeth has been sentenced to six months in jail.

Rodgers Natembeya was arraigned before a Kibera court where he pleaded guilty to assaulting his wife after they differed over their daughters' school fees.

He confessed that on February 1 this year at Kawangware Stage Two in Dagoretti, he assaulted Irene Nafula on February 1 using a wooden stick.

It is alleged that Nafula was at their house when the accused person knocked on the door.

She peeped through the window and saw him and when she went to open the door, the accused person attacked her leading to her losing her tooth.

Natembeya was very remorseful and asked the court to forgive him, saying he was emotional at the time of the incident.

Efforts by his wife who was in court to withdraw the case were futile as the magistrate Derrick Kuto declined her request telling her she should have done that at the police station.

Kuto then sentenced him to six months in jail for causing grievous harm to his wife.

In the same court, a man who assaulted his wife on valentine’s day for allegedly cheating on him with another man was charged with assault.

It is alleged that Stephene Omuse beat up Josesphine Mapesa after she failed to explain to him who the man was.

According to police reports, Omuse allegedly followed his wife as she was going to work and saw her with another man.

He then later went to her workplace and picked her up and took her to their house in Kangemi where he assaulted her after she failed to explain who the man was.

Meanwhile, a man who sodomised his young son was charged with the offence of defilement.

It is alleged that the man used tricks to sexually assault his son when his wife was out of the house.

The offence allegedly occurred in Riruta and police claim that on that day, the father lured the minor was the mother was away and sodomised him.

When his wife came back home from work, she found her son crying and unable to walk properly.

Upon interrogation, it is alleged that the child told her that the father had sodomised him.

She confronted the husband who confessed to having done it and asked her for forgiveness, saying he was sorry

The woman reported the matter to the police and the accused person was arrested and arraigned.
