Members of the education committee at the Senate will meet from February 7 to February 8 in Naivasha.
During the retreat, stakeholders in the sector will submit memorandums on the county educational and vocational bill.
According to the invite seen by the Star, the stakeholders will have a wide range of topics to make presentations on.
For instance, Kenya National Qualifications Authority Acting CEO Alice Kande will make presentations on KNQA functions.
"Establishment, licensing, registration and accreditation of TVET institutions. Organization and management of VTIs," the invite reads.
TVET Authority director general Kipkrui Langat will also be in attendance for the two-day retreat.
National Industrial Training Authority DG Stephen Ogenga will represent the authority in the retreat.
The invites were signed by Senate Clerk Jeremiah Nyegenye.
The County educational and vocational bill was first read on November 8, 2022, and thereafter stood committed to the Senate standing committee on education for consideration.
The Bill provides a legal framework to govern the establishment and management of vocational education and training within the counties.
The proposed bill stipulates that counties shall put in place necessary training infrastructure, equipment, learning and teaching resources in the delivery of vocational education and training.
"Formulate and implement county-specific programs, plans and policies to ensure availability, accessibility and effective delivery of vocational education and training," the Bill reads.
