Karua, CJ Koome listed among top 100 most reputable Africans in 2023

They are among four Kenyan women to make it on to the list

Chief Justice Martha Koome and Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua have been listed among the top 100 most reputable Africans in 2023.

The list, Reputation Poll 2023, was organised by Reputation Poll International (RPI).

The list features individuals from diverse sectors including governance and leadership, entertainment, human rights and advocacy, education, and business.

“The selection criteria are integrity, visibility and impact,” they said.

The Chief Justice was listed in the category of Human Rights Advocacy.

The two are among five Kenyans to make it on the list, including President William Ruto who was listed in the governance and policy category.

Former Sports and Culture Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed was also on the list.

Another Kenyan, Dr Wanjiru Kamau-Rutenberg also made her way onto the reputable list.

She is the Rise project executive director.

Central Bank of Kenya Governor Patrick Njoroge was also part of the list.

In addition to the individuals being recognised for their various achievements, some are celebrated for their contributions to social impact and social entrepreneurship.

"For helping to transform businesses in Africa and positively impacting lives without causing controversy,” they said.

During the announcement of the list, Beldina Auma, Co-chairperson of the Review and Audit Committee, said the organisation is dedicated to recognising people, groups, and businesses who continually improve lives in Africa and around the world.

Auma is also the chair Emeritus of the World Bank Group-IMF African Society and President of SCIP-International.
