Retired Chief Justice David Maraga was on Monday morning sworn in as chairperson of a taskforce that will oversee reforms at the National Police Service and Kenya Prisons Service.

22 other members of the task force were also sworn in  during the Monday morning event. 

They were appointed by President William Ruto on December 22, 2022. 

The task force is mandated to identify the constraints on effective service delivery by NPS and KPS.

Maraga will be deputised by Carole Kariuki. 

Other task force members are Moffat Muriithi Kangi, John Ole Moyaki, Ibrahim Jillo Guyo, Richard Kirundi, Elizabeth Mueni, and Roseline Odede.

Also, Joash Odhiambo Dache, Doreen Muthaura, Albert Mwenda, Terry Chebet Maina, Hassan Sheikh Mohamed, Simiyu Werunga, Mutuma Ruteere, Anne Ireri, Stephen Kayongo, Jafaar Mohamed and Sammy Chepkwony.
