President William Ruto is expected to jet back into the country on Sunday after successfully completing his US mission that saw him secure major deals.
Ruto was among the more than 50 African heads of state invited to the US-Africa Leaders Summit.
The summit started on December 13.
"He is returning today evening," Statehouse press secretary Emmanuel Talam told the Star.
The theme of the meet was dubbed “The Future of Africa’s Trade and Investment”.
On the sidelines of the high-level meeting between US President Joe Biden and the continental leaders, Ruto held talks with various partners.
Among the deals he secured are partnerships with World Bank on various economic projects in the country and on climate innovations and carbon removal.
“Kenya will intensify its engagement with the World Bank on the country's development priorities,” Ruto said Thursday after a meeting with World Bank President David Malpass.
Other major deals are on his peace efforts in DRC and the Horn of Africa.
Ruto is accompanied by Prime cabinet secretary Musalia Mudavadi among several cabinet secretaries.
Azimio leader Raila Odinga had also left for the US and was expected to remain there for the next five days.
