Morocco will tonight play against France in the 2022 World Cup semifinals from 10 pm EAT.

The Atlas Lions made history as the first African nation to reach the semis after beating the Cristiano Ronaldo-lead Portugal 1-0 in the quarter-finals.

The historical win received praise and was seen as a beacon of hope for African teams in their quest to bag the first golden trophy.

If Morocco wins the 2022 World Cup 2022 on December 18, they will take home up to Sh5.1 billion.

If they bag the first runner-up position, Morocco will take home Sh3.6 billion and if they fall in third place, they will grab Sh3.3 billion.

If they don't secure first, second or third place, Morocco will still receive Sh3.1 billion from Fifa.

According to the Economic Times, teams that were ousted in the group stage will pocket Sh1.1 billion each.

African giants Ghana, Cameroon and Tunisia fall in this category and so are hosts Qatar—the fastest host nation to exit football's showpiece.

Others are Ecuador, Wales, Iran, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Denmark, Germany, Costa Rica, Canada and Belgium.

Teams that were dumped out at the Round of 16 will receive Sh1.6 billion each.

USA, Australia, Poland, Senegal, Japan, South Korea, Switzerland and Spain belong here.
