Cars burst into flames after head-on crash in Mai Mahiu

Police are currently controlling the traffic flow in the area.

A head-on collision accident occurred early Wednesday morning involving two trailer trucks. 

The accident occurred at Governor along the Mai Mahiu - Naivasha highway.

The two trucks caught fire on impact. However, the fire was put out.

Police are currently controlling the traffic flow in the area.  

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) urged motorists to exercise caution and lane discipline to curb such incidences.

Elsewhere, another accident involving multiple vehicles occurred near Thika town along the Nairobi – Thika - Nyeri Road (A2).

Police are currently conducting rescue operations.

The two accidents happen just a day after another tragic crash that left eight people dead at Ngata Bridge, Nakuru Town West Sub-County along Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.

Twenty others who were seriously injured in the accident involving two matatus and a truck were taken to the Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital and other hospitals in Nakuru City for treatment.

Police have attributed the increasing number of accidents to reckless driving, dangerous overtaking, drunk driving, drunk walking, drunk riding, and failure to use helmets among other issues.
