Saboti member of parliament Caleb Amisi has successfully defended his seat.

The MP retained his seat by garnering 25,469 votes against his closest challenger Benard Wambwa of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) who got 12,392 votes.

Amisi was running under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket.

He battled out with the other four candidates to secure his bid for the MP seat.

Saboti constituency has hailed big political names including former MP Wafula Wabuge and former Vice President Michael Wamalwa Kijana.

Amisi was nominated to contest for the parliamentary seat by the ODM party after his rival Eric Simatwa agreed to back him.

He was first elected as an MP to represent the Saboti constituency in 2017.
