Issues Supreme Court will decide today

• Raila Odinga is disputing the election of William Ruto as the fifth President of the Republic of Kenya.

The Supreme Court of Kenya will on Monday give its verdict on the disputed August 9 presidential election.

The apex court is expected to give the verdict from 12 noon.

The seven-judge bench consolidated seven of the nine petitions filed at the court into one, dismissing two.

Raila Odinga is disputing the election of William Ruto as the fifth President of the Republic of Kenya.

The outgoing deputy president was announced President-elect on August 15 by IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati following the hotly contested August 9 polls.

He garnered 7,176,141 votes (50.49 per cent), defeating Azimio flag bearer Raila Odinga who had 6,942,930 votes, representing (48.85 per cent).
