Reports that Lawyer Karen Nyamu is now seeking to vie for the Nairobi Senate position on a Jubilee party ticket are false.
The fake post emerged on April 14, 2022, a week after UDA announced that former Starehe MP Bishop Margaret Wanjiru will be vying for the Senate position after reaching a consensus deal that saw Nyamu step down for her.
Nyamu, who is also a Director at the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company, had expressed her interest in the Senate position under the Deputy President William Ruto led UDA party prior to the consensus deal.
Last Friday, the image went viral on social media indicating that Nyamu had defected to the Jubilee party and will be seeking the Senate seat.
The poster had her image, the colours and the logo of the Jubilee party.
Nyamu flagged the post terming it as fake saying she is loyal to the UDA Party and DP Ruto.
"Wacheni hii upuzi. I am loyal to my party UDA and to my party leader William Samoei Ruto. We are in UDA for the long haul. This is wishful thinking on high heels. Disregard," she wrote on Facebook last Friday.
