Since former Jubilee party secretary-general Raphael Tuju announced his exit from the party leadership ranks, social media has been awash with reports of his next plans ahead of the August 9 polls.

On Thursday, a poster bearing an image of Tuju, his name, Jubilee party symbols and a hashtag of Azimio  La Umoja went viral on social media.

The poster stated that the Tuju had finally made up his mind to vie for Lang'ata seat.

Pesacheck has, however, confirmed that the poster is fake.

We reached out to Tuju for clarification on the matter and he unequivocally said "it's fake".

Important to note, the former Jubilee secretary-general appeared on Citizen TV on Wednesday and said he was still deliberating on his political future.

The former CS without a portfolio said he was consulting and weighing his options whether to run for a seat in Nairobi or his rural Siaya home.

Most importantly, he gave a timeline on when exactly should Kenyans expect him to declare his way forward.

"I am still consulting. As an experienced politician, I don't just throw myself into the race without making the right calculations. I will be announcing my stand in the next two weeks," Tuju said.

The message is an important alarm to any post that may emerge on social media announcing his political direction before the timelines he announced expires.

Before the two weeks lapse, it is imperative you treat any information regarding his political future with the contempt it deserves unless he announces otherwise.
