A twitter user @eng_mokogoti posted the photo on September 28,2021 with the caption “A 64 year old Patricia Kemunto delivered twins at Kisii teaching and referral hospital”.
The post goes on to further state, “Congratulations to Mama who has broken the Guiness book of recordS for giving birth at the age of 64, especially when her last born is currently 42 years old.”
However a quick search on Google reverse image reveals that the image was actually taken in Nigeria and not Kenya as claimed.
According to CNN,the woman Margaret Adenuga is 68 years old and not 64 as alleged in the claim. It’s also worth mentioning that the woman is Nigerian, not Kenyan.
Margaret and her 77-year-old husband Noah Adenuga welcomed twins last year after waiting for 46 years since they got married in 1974.
According to the article published last year, the babies were delivered via caesarian section at 37 weeks at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital(LUTH) and not in Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital.
The Star has looked into the Twitter post claiming that a Kenyan woman gave birth at 64 and found it to be FALSE.
