Jubilee MPs want to meet Uhuru over emerging divisions

Some Jubilee MPs are pushing for a Parliamentary Group meeting ahead of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s State of the Nation address next Thursday.

They say the Jubilee house is burning, they have burning questions and they must have answers.

Calls for a meeting came as some anti-DP William Ruto lawmakers began to threaten to impeach Ruto for openly contradicting the President.


Rivers dry up after destruction of Mau Forest

The magnitude of encroachment on the Maasai Mau forest is massive, the Star can now reveal. 

A flight over the forest on March 21 revealed the extent of the damage on the forest which was once Kenya's largest closed‐canopy forest ecosystem.

The damage has already rendered most rivers dry, affecting millions who rely on the water catchment area. 


Coast leaders blame Uhuru for corruption

Corruption in the Jubilee administration is the biggest threat to the Coast’s prosperity, the region's leaders have said.

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi led legislators in denouncing what they called rampant corruption in the Jubilee administration.

They said the theft of public resources has made most Coast residents poor and hopeless.


A little patch of heaven in Turkana 

Arid, sandy, scorching Turkana is in the news because of deaths and drought, which happen every year. But here's a good news story.

Turkana south has plenty of food and irrigation has made the parched earth bloom.

Self-confessed killer to be sentenced in April

A man who confessed to murdering a Mombasa businessman will be sentenced on April 8.

Judge Erick Ogola said Ngira Karisa, who pleaded guilty to the charge of murdering Isaack Kassim, will be sentenced in accordance to the plea bargaining agreement and submissions by the prosecution.
