Azimio leader Raila Odinga is among the guests attending the Africa Fertiliser and Soil Health Summit.

The Summit is ongoing at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC). It started on Tuesday and will end on Thursday (today).

The former Prime Minister has joined over six African Heads of State and Government who are attending the Summit.

This comes even as he is eyeing the African Union Commission chairmanship.

Raila is believed to be capitalising on the international summits hosted by Kenya, to seek support from the visiting leaders.

Some of the leaders present include; President Faustin-Archange Touadéra (Central African Republic), Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera (Malawi), Hakainde Hichilema (Zambia), Emmerson Mnangagwa (Zimbabwe), Nangolo Mbumba (Namibia) and Gervais Ndirakobuca (Prime Minister of Burundi).

Others include vice presidents and ministers representing their countries.

This is the second time the African leaders will be meeting in Nairobi, in less than two weeks.

The summit began on Tuesday and was officially opened by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.

They later on held a ministerial session, with ministers from several African countries represented.

The summit was convened following a decision by the African Union Assembly in February this year.

It is the second Summit after the first one that was held in Abuja, Nigeria in 2006.

On April 29, Raila was also among leaders who attended the International Development Association (IDA21) Summit in Nairobi.

The Summit brought together African Heads of state and government from at least 20 countries in the continent.
