KeNHA partially closes Kenol-Sagana road

The Kenya National and Highways Authority (KeNHA) has closed a section of the Nairobi bound lanes along the Kenol - Sagana (A2) road.

It was closed following the heavy rains that led to debris falling from the back slope of the road section in the Mugetho area.

The Authority advised motorists to share lanes with the Sagana-bound traffic and adhere to instructions provided by traffic marshals at the location.

This is as KeNHA works to restore the normal traffic flow.

"The Authority remains committed to ensuring seamless connectivity to facilitate safe passage of goods and services for economic prosperity," it assured.

Since the heavy rains began, several roads in the country have been affected, with some needing repairs as others attracted cautionary to the users.

On Tuesday, the highways authority issued a traffic alert for users of the Kampi ya Moto-Eldama Ravine (B77) road.

This was after the Rongai River burst its banks overtopping the Rongai junction along the said road.

An advisory was also issued for persons using the Garsen - Witu - Lamu (A7) Road, between Idsowe (Tana River Bridge) and Gamba/Lango la Simba.

This followed heavy downpours upstream which resulted in rising water levels in the Tana River and consequent flooding of the fields along the road.
