Two suspects were on Tuesday arrested in Nairobi along Kangundo Road with 10kg of bhang.

The bhang was said to have an estimated street value of Sh300,000.

The Nairobi Anti-Narcotics Unit detectives supported by the Operations Unit on Tuesday conducted a raid at a house in the Joska Area.

According to a statement by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) in their X account on Wednesday, they arrested two 21-year-old youths in possession of the drugs.

''The Nairobi Anti-Narcotics Unit detectives supported by the Operations Support Unit yesterday conducted a raid at a house in Joska area along Kangundo Road, where the two were arrested for being in possession of bhang'' they said in a statement.

''The two suspects were escorted to Muthaiga Police Station for court processing, and the exhibit which weighed 10kg estimated at a street value of Sh300,000 secured."

This comes after four suspects were arrested in January after being found with 15kg of bhang.

The Anti-Narcotic Unit supported by the DCI team said it acted on intelligence reports regarding persons involved in narcotic trafficking and raided the residence of one of the suspects within the Kamulu area along Kangundo Road.

Police said upon searching the suspect's two houses, they recovered dry plant materials suspected to be Cannabis sativa, popularly known as bhang.

They were arrested and escorted to Kasarani police station where they were placed in custody pending further police action and arraignment.

''The exhibit has been secured as the four await arraignment," police said.
