Eyebrows raised as Uhuru boards Uganda Airlines plane to DRC Congo

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta's arrival in DRC Congo aboard  Uganda Airlines plane has sparked mixed reactions among Kenyans.

The former President on Friday landed in DRC Congo ahead of the inauguration of President-elect Felix Tshisekedi.

Tshisekedi's swearing-in has been scheduled to take place on Saturday 20, 2024 at the Martyrs Stadium in Kinshasa.

President-elect Tshisekedi garnered more than 70 per cent of the total vote cast during the general elections.

A picture shared on Uhuru's official handle showed he had disembarked from a Ugandan Airlines plane even as he was being ushered to his next destination.

Many Kenyans took to social media to question how the former President could travel via a plane from the neighbouring country's airline yet Kenya has its own.

Others also questioned why the President could not use the Kenya Airforce chopper given that he is a former commander of Kenya Defence Forces.
