Mixed reactions over Sh795m budget to renovate State House

Last week, reports emerged that President William Ruto will take time away from State House Nairobi, to give space for renovations.

True to this, President Ruto has from last week worked from State House Nakuru and the Eldoret State Lodge.

It has now emerged that the renovations will cost the taxpayers Sh795 million, according to Business Daily.

President William Ruto is said to have opted for renovations because constructing a new State House would see the cost run into billions of shillings.

The initial amount set for the renovation of the State House was Sh195 million but was revised upwards by Sh600 million in the mini-budget.

Other State Houses and Lodges across the country are also set to undergo renovations.
