President William Ruto will on Wednesday preside over the official opening of the second annual Kenya Diaspora Investment Conference (KDIC), themed Tujenge Kenya; Bridging Borders, Building Futures.

The three-day conference to be held at KICC aims to highlight and present investment opportunities across various sectors of the economy to members of the Diaspora while engaging in discussions regarding the legal and regulatory framework related to diaspora investments.

It seeks to facilitate networking and collaboration among different stakeholders.

This includes fostering connections between members of the Diaspora, national and county governments, and local businesses. 

Kimalel Goat Auction event

Baringo County government will host the ninth Kimalel Goat Auction.

The two-day event which will start on Wednesday at the Kimalel grounds in Baringo South constituency had been suspended for two years in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Public sector hearing for budget proposal

The National Government will be conducting Public Hearings on its proposed FY 2024- 2025 and Medium Term period Budget at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies (KSMS) for three days starting on Wednesday.

Court to deliver a ruling in Ojaamong Sh8m graft case

Anti-corruption court will today give a ruling in the Sh8 million graft case against former Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong.

Ojaamong will appear before Milimani Anti-Corruption Chief Magistrate Eunice Nyutu who will deliver the ruling.

He was charged with abuse of office and economic crimes with allegations of irregular procurement of a waste management feasibility project in Busia during the 2013/14 Financial Year.

Nuru Okanga to appear in court for his pretrial

An ODM supporter Nuru Maloba Okanga who is accused of insulting President William Ruto on social media will appear in court for his pretrial.

Okanga is accused that on November 20, 2023, at an unknown place within the country, jointly with others not before the court, used YouTube Account/Channel RIBA NEWS @ribanews to publish the alleged information. 

Zelensky pleads for more aid amid standoff in US Congress

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged the US to back more aid to Kyiv, with a plea that some lawmakers said has changed few if any, minds.

Zelensky visited leaders in Washington DC in a final push for $61bn (£49bn) in aid that has been sidelined by a standoff over US border policy.

Appearing with him at the White House, President Joe Biden said Congress must "compromise" and "prove Putin wrong".
