The Ukambani Wiper brigade has declared its support for the party’s chief Kalonzo Musyoka’s 2027 presidential bid saying as a community, they were ready to take up the country’s leadership.

The politicians led by Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti told Kalonzo not to step aside for anyone and instead get to the ballot.

They claimed it was only Kalonzo, one of their own, who would save them from the atrocities inflicted on them as the Kamba community.

“Our people are becoming poorer every day and taxation has become a problem,” Ndeti said.

Ndeti spoke during a funds drive at Kyua Catholic church in Yatta, Machakos County on Saturday.

She told the Kamba community to be united stating that Ukambani votes were intact in Kalonzo’s favor.

“Let’s unite and speak with one voice as the Kamba community. He is experienced having served as the country’s vice president and can be trusted,” Ndeti said.

Ndeti said the Wiper leader was principled and hence earned respect and recognition internationally as a peace ambassador and mediator.

“We speak to many Kenyans and they say if you organize yourself, you will win the presidency. We have started getting organized, we will vote for you and mobilize votes across the country,” Ndeti said.

Matungulu MP Stephen Mule told Wiper politicians from the region to get out of Ukambani and seek votes for their party leader ahead of 2027.

“We have from today moved out of Ukambani headed to Western, Coast, Taita Taveta, everywhere together with Kalonzo, he will rescue the country from bad leadership,” Mule said.

Yatta MP Robert Basil said Kalonzo will be the sixth Kenyan president. He urged Kenyans especially those from Wiper strongholds to register as voters in readiness to cast votes in the Wiper leader’s favor come 2027.

Kalonzo in his response said he was ready to get to the ballot for presidency this time round.

"The cost of living is high. I want to be given any example of a country in the world that has come out of economic turmoil by over-taxing its citizens," Kalonzo said.
