A section of Nyanza governors have assured the ODM leader Raila Odinga of their loyalty.

Speaking to the media in Kisumu, the governors led by Anyang Nyong’o (Kisumu) Gladys Wanga ( Homabay County), Ochilo Ayacko ( Migori) and Simba Arati (Kisii) said they are competent to handle any approaches from any quota that is trying to sell their politics to them.

Nyong’o said they are in Azimio and they have the vision bearer who has been the father of change and progress in the nation.

"There is no coalition or party that can do it better than Azimio. So there is no wind that can blow us apart or earthquake that can shake our foundation, "Nyong’o said.

He added, " This does not disturb us at all."

Raila over the weekend told President Ruto to keep off opposition governors.

Raila accused Ruto of courting Azimio governors by dangling development in the counties in what he termed as an attempt to cripple the Azimio coalition.

The ODM leader while in Kisii on Sunday accused President Ruto of interfering with the running of county governments.

He claimed the President has been undermining devolution by launching county projects and issuing instructions to governors.

Raila cited the Affordable Housing Programme, which he said is a devolved function.

He said the programme should be spearheaded by county governments and not the national government.

Raila further cited the subsidised fertiliser programme, “Agriculture is devolved. Give counties the money to buy the fertiliser and allow them to distribute it,” he stated.

The Azimio leader also faulted the President for launching projects that were undertaken by county governments.
