The Africa Climate Summit entered Day 2 on Tuesday.
The discussions were pegged on climate financing and how to scale it up at the international level for Africa, investing in nature and biodiversity.
Various leaders including President William Ruto, AU chairperson Moussa Faki, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and a host of presidents and other dignitaries addressed the meeting.
Ruto said it was time for Africa to step forward as the cornerstone around which compelling climate solutions are built.
"Africa has an extraordinary opportunity to abandon the unsustainable path of the past and build a new route that aligns economic inclusion and shared prosperity with the Paris Agreement," he added.
