A Kibera court will this morning be sentencing two men found guilty of defiling minors.

One of them is a man who defiled his 13-year-old stepdaughter in Kangemi. The other defiled a five-year-old child.

Separately, a man who stabbed six people in Mountain View, killing two and leaving others in critical condition will be detained for 14 days, after detectives got orders before a Kibera court to detain him pending further probe.

The man appeared in court physically and he did not object to his detention pending investigations.

And a woman who stole a boy child from a Nairobi high-rise estate and ran away with him to Busia has been detained for 14 days by the same court.

It is still not known whether the child is alive or was killed. Only his clothes have been recovered.

At the Milimani Law Courts, a 26-year-old who is seeking parental maintenance has written to the Deputy Registrar seeking to have her matter moved to a nearer date.

Lady Justice Mugure Thande had fixed the case for mention on September 21 but Doreen Okumu says her case is extremely urgent as she is in dire need of financial support.

She says she lacks urgent provision of sanitary pads and medication each month.
