President Willaim Ruto on Sunday revealed that he will never allow demonstrations of destruction to take place in Kenya.

Speaking during an interview with Inooro Tv from Sagana, Ruto said he had to make that decision in order to protect Kenya.

"I looked at myself and said apart from being the leader of the government, I'm the Head of State and my work is to protect Kenyans and their properties," he said.

" And mark my words, maandamano ya vita, kuharibu mali na kusababisha vifo haitafanyika tena," Ruto added.

The Head of State explained that he was surprised that when he said no to demos, critics were opposing the move, saying it will take Kenya backward.

"Between me and those who are trying to divide Kenyans by these protests, who is really taking Kenya backwards?" Ruto posed.

The President insisted that he will do everything in his power to protect Kenyans.

Earlier, Ruto condemn the Opposition-led demonstrations that occurred last month saying that the demos were tarnishing Kenya's reputation.

The President said that Kenya's security is not negotiable.

Ruto said destroying Kenya through demos will not happen again under his watch.

"There are those who want to destroy Kenya, kill Kenyans and I will not allow that, it is not negotiable," he said.

"Making sure that we are a secure nation is one thing we must all agree on, we can negotiate everything but not Kenya's security."

Explaining that he never minces his words, the Head of State said just like he declared that reggae will stop (BBI) and it stopped, there will be no more demos.

"In politics and other things we can talk lakini vita ama kupiganisha watu na kuharibu mali, hapana, haitafanyika Kenya," Ruto affirmed.
