National Assembly Majority leader Kimani Ichung'wah on Saturday stated that Sagana State Lodge will be a house used to unite Kenyans.

Speaking in Nyeri, he said that the house will on Saturday usher in new leadership.

"Where you (Ruto) are going to Sagana State Lodge, I thought it was a personal house. I didn't know it was a government-owned house," Ichung'wah said.

"I thought a day would come where that person would lock the house and stay inside. Lakini Mungu ni nani! Leo mtoto wa hustler atalala Sagana State lodge," he added.

Ichung'wah explained that the lodge was previously used to plan how Mt Kenya would be split and to stop Ruto's presidential bid.

"Hiyo nyumba ilikuwa ya matusi and was being used to plan against Mt Kenya, but all that is behind us now. We are moving forward," he said.

For the first time since beginning his term as the country's fifth Head of State, President William Ruto will on Saturday embark on an extensive tour of the vast Mt Kenya region.

The populous and strategic region was crucial in Ruto's presidential victory despite Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta having backed ex-prime minister Raila Odinga.

It was at this venue that Uhuru on February 23, 2022 that Uhuru officially endorsed Raila after hosting at least three meetings at the Sagana State Lodge.

In this Sagana three Uhuru said ‘Raila tosha”."I'm asking you to support Raila Odinga as he means well for the Country. When "my young man reforms", we will consider him," Uhuru said as he appealed to his backyard to back Raila.
