Siaya Governor James Orengo has broken his silence on the ongoing political developments in the country.

In a statement on Thursday, Orengo termed the Kenya Kwanza regime as an oppressive one.

The governor said the good thing is that such regimes eventually fall, just like fruits do from trees when they rot.

Orengo insisted that humanity has no room for tyranny.

The Siaya governor was reacting to recent developments in the country where deaths and injuries sustained by Kenyans participating in the protests, have been reported.

This comes despite Azimio leaders having for a second day given the protests a wide berth, even as most parts of the country remain calm.

On Wednesday, running battles between protesters and police marked a better part of the day, in several parts of the country.

On Thursday, Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua claimed President William Ruto had divided the country into two factions.

She claimed that one side of the divide has the ruling party, United Democratic Alliance supporters staging counter-demonstrations against opposition protesters, with the support of the police.

Karua also noted that the other side has a country where police use excessive force against peaceful protesters.
