Shakahola deaths: 303 bodies exhumed so far

The number of bodies exhumed from Shakahola Forest has now hit 303 after the team conducting exhumation recovered 19 bodies today.

This comes as the exercise enters the third phase.

It also comes at a time when 65 victims were arraigned in court and the police wanted them detained in prison so that they can be fed.

The court is set to give a ruling on Thursday.

While giving the daily updates Coast Regional Commissioner Rhoda Onyancha said the number of DNA samples taken from relatives looking for their missing persons is still 93.

She said those arrested are 35 while those rescued remain are 95.

"Those Identified by families are 19 while those reported missing are 613," she said.
