Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has taken a swipe at his former party leader, Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking in Isiolo on Sunday, Duale said that recent actions by the former President were an embarrassment not only for Kenya but across Africa.
"Umetuaibisha... huna heshima kwa nchi ya Kenya. Kenya ilikupea uongozi miaka kumi na unaenda kupambana na teargas .. Marais majirani wanashangaa na wewe sanaa, he said.
This translates to: "You ( Uhuru) have embarrassed us... You don't have respect for Kenya. Kenya which gave you 10 years of presidency but you are allowing yourself to be teargassed... Neighbouring Presidents are even surprised by you."
Last month, Uhuru criticised the police when he visited the Jubilee Party offices in Kileleshwa following the commotion.
He lashed out at the police for using teargas in a scenario that he termed as a 'forceful takeover'.
"You are throwing teargas at them so you can take the house by force that is not right," Uhuru said.
Duale said it was shocking for Uhuru to condemn police who were on official duty.
The CS said the former President should "respect his standing in society."
Duale further faulted Uhuru for the fall of the Jubilee Party
He explained that together with his former party members, they did not leave the Jubilee party willingly but instead got chased away by the party leader and those who surrounded them.
"To correct my sister Sabina Chege, we did not leave Jubilee but we were chased away then. You were there," he claimed.
On June 22, 2023, the axe fell on Duale as Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta (Jubilee Party leader) orchestrated a purge targeting Ruto's allies.
Duale was kicked out of the Majority leader position.
He served as the first leader of the Majority party in the 11th and 12th Parliaments, until June 2020 when he was replaced with former Kipipiri MP Amos Kimunya.
In addition, Duale asked the leaders of Isiolo to join hands and support the Kenya Kwanza government.
"Elections are over and let's forget what happened in the past and move forward and support our President," he added.
