Police are investigating yet another incident in which a 30-year-old man died after he fell from the fifteenth floor of a building in California, Nairobi.

Shandrack Oyier, 30, slid and fell off while laying tiles on the floor of the house on Sunday evening, police said.

According to police, the man slid off an opening, which was unsecured and suffered fractured limbs, legs, and ribs.

Police said he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead while being attended to.

Such incidents have been on the rise at construction sites amid calls to take measures to address them.

Police say they receive up to two incidents of fatal falls at workplaces a week, which is alarming.

And a 21-year-old man died by suicide in an apartment in South B, Nairobi.

The body of Evans Kioko was found hanging on the rooftop of their apartment.

He had hanged himself using a rope.

Police said they were informed the deceased had borrowed a mobile phone from one of his friends on the ground floor and requested to go and make a phone call at the rooftop.

Later the mother of the deceased received a phone call from a lady informing her that Evans had committed suicide. The motive of the incident is yet to be known.

In Mwala, Masii, Machakos County, the body of Stephen Nzioka Nduva aged 42 years was found hanging on a tree outside his house with a rope tied around the neck.

No suicide note was recovered and the motive is yet to be known, police said.

Such cases have been on the rise in the past few days amid calls to address the trend.
