Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli has assured President William Ruto that it will not rain until he makes his speech.

Speaking during the Labour Day celebrations, Atwoli assured the president the weather will remain intact.

The Cotu SG said he comes from an area where people have the ability to control rain hence the head of state should not be worried about the weather.

"I promise you (Ruto) it cannot rain until after your speech because I come from an area of people who control rain in Western Kenya," he said.

The country has in the past few weeks witnessed heavy rains that have hit the ground through out the day.

President Ruto had joined Kenyans in marking the Labour Day at Uhuru Gardens, in Nairobi.

Atwoli at the same time said Raila will not succeed in ejecting President William Ruto from office using demonstrations.

“Getting Ruto out of office is a dream. Let us not dwell with an impossibility that will not help the country,” he stated.

The COTU boss further asked the President to appoint Raila to a position which will see him contribute to the development of the country and the continent as a whole.

Atwoli, a one-time ally of Raila, advised workers to shun Tuesday’s planned demos called by the Opposition leader.

“I want to ask workers not to go to the demonstrations. You will be sacked by your employers for absconding duty and it will be very difficult to defend someone who did not go to work because they went to maandamano,” he stated.
