The government has issued emergency hotline numbers for Kenyans living in Sudan.
The numbers, +249900194854 (Sudan) and +254114757002 (Kenya) were shared by Principal Secretary for Diaspora Affairs Roseline Njogu on Wednesday
"If you’re a Kenyan in Sudan, or you have Kenyan family and friends there, immediately contact us on these numbers," she said.
On Tuesday, the government announced plans to evacuate about 3,000 citizens currently living in or visiting Sudan, should the current situation in Khartoum escalate into a humanitarian crisis.
As a result, the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs has set up a multi-agency technical team.
The team is currently monitoring the situation and is preparing to support Kenyans in Sudan through humanitarian assistance and emergency evacuation if need be.
So far, at least 200 people have been killed as the conflict rages and property of unknown value destroyed.
PS Njogu announced that no Kenyan casualty has been reported.
In the meantime, the ministry is advising Kenyans to continue staying indoors as they monitor the situation.
There has been fierce fighting around Sudan's famous seat of power, the Republican Palace.
The army says it remains in control of all its bases, including its Khartoum headquarters, where heavy weapons have been used during intense clashes.
The sound of gunfire and explosions has hardly stopped since Saturday morning.
Violence between the army and a paramilitary group called the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has left people dead.
