Uhuru attends Easter Church service in Mombasa

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday attended an Easter church service in Mombasa.

The former Head of State was seen seated in the church amongst other worshippers.

He participated in prayers and joined in singing and dancing.

This marks Uhuru's first public appearance since the invasion at his family farm in Ruiru.

Northlands City was invaded by intruders who destroyed properties, stole sheep and set the farm on fire. 

Leaders distanced themselves from any involvement in the raid.

Interior CS Kithure Kindiki said police are in pursuit of at least 2,000 looters who invaded the farm.

Amidst all the tension on the raid, Uhuru has seemingly been quiet.

This comes as other senior leaders in the government travel home to celebrate Easter with their families.

President William Ruto and Deputy Rigathi Gachagua travelled to their rural homes to mark Easter.

The two are said to have left for their respective rural residences in Uasin Gishu and Nyeri respectively on Thursday.
