A man charged before a Kibera court has been found guilty of rape and assault.
Erick Mburu Gathoni was handed 15 years imprisonment for rape and three years imprisonment for assault.
The sentences will run concurrently.
Narrating her ordeal to the court, the victim said she took a boda boda ride to a friend's place and halfway through the trip, the accused slowed down near a forest where he took a knife, threatened and beat her up.
She then secretly dialled her sister's number who rushed to the scene together with other boda boda riders and found the accused in the act.
Gathoni is said to have attempted to run.
Prosecutor Violet Ombati presented six witnesses in the trial.
