Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi on Wednesday met the head of Government Delivery Service Agnes Odhiambo as she officially assumed office.
This followed her appointment with President William Ruto.
She reported to work on March 29 and was received by the Prime CS.
The GDS is domiciled under the office of the Prime CS and her assumption of office means that key project delivery operations will now take shape.
Odhiambo who is a former Controller of Budget was tasked with among other responsibilities; streamlining services at the GDS and changing the image of the formerly Presidential Delivery Unit, to meet the expectations of the citizens and help in the realisation of the Kenya Kwanza administration’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.
“Monitoring and evaluation of government projects will be key under Odhiambo’s watch as she will be required to give periodic reports on progress on key government projects,” Mudavadi said.
Her docket will also have a complimenting agency of Performance Contracting, which will handle matters of performance by public officers.
Odhiambo was Kenya's first Controller of the Budget from August 2011 to August 2019.
Until her recent appointment as the Head of the Government Delivery Service, she was serving as the chairperson of the National Transport and Safety Authority of Kenya.
She is an accomplished professional accountant and financial manager with over 30 years of experience in public finance management.
