Raila to address supporters in Kibera

Opposition leader Raila Odinga is expected to address his supporters at Kibera.

Raila who is accompanied by various Azimio la Umoja leaders and their supporters is currently making his way to the area through the Jamhuri sports ground route.

His attempts to access the venue were foiled after anti-riot police officers lobbed teargas canisters at their convoy along Ngong road.

Police have, however, cordoned off the area, and remains unclear if the leaders will succeed.

Raila had in the morning assured his supporters that the anti-government protests are still on.

"No handshake, tuko on, Mondays and Thursdays. #MaandamanoMondays," he posted on his social media pages.

He arrived at Kawangware at around 1.30 pm and addressed the residents on the way before exiting at Dagoreti corner.
