Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua warned against plans to arrest ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Addressing Azimio's protest rally on Monday, Karua said any attempt to arrest Raila will be disastrous to the country.

Karua claimed that there are plots to have the ODM leader put in custody by the police.

"Mimi nataka muelewe wakona mpango ya kushika Baba. Wakimguza watakuwa wameguza Kenya," she said.

Loosely translates to: "I want you to understand that they want to arrest Baba. If they lay a hand on him, they lay a hand on Kenya."

She further urged Azimio supporters not to relent as they push President William Ruto's regime to heed their demands.

"Kwa hivyo tuendelee adi tutoboe hii safari (So let us press on until we make it in this journey)," she added.

On Sunday, Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome warned against any mass action and assemblies of protests saying they are illegal.

Koome said police will treat everyone equally when arresting protesters in the streets.

In a comment that appeared to be directed to Raila, Karua and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, the IG said even his commanders will not care about anyone's social status when dealing with protesters.

"Whoever you are, I will deal with you," said Koome.

Earlier, police lobbed teargas at Raila's convoy in Kawangware.

Raila's convoy has been snaking around Nairobi's neighbourhoods including Kawangware and Kibra for almost three hours now.

His destination remains unknown.
