National Assembly Minority leader Opiyo Wandayi has hit out at Trade CS Moses Kuria over remarks about how the government should deal with opposition leader Raila Odinga.

Kuria proposed it uses tactics similar to those used by Rwanda's Paul Kagame and Uganda's Yoweri Museveni to deal with Raila.

Speaking on Sunday during a service at Jesus Teaching Ministry, Embakasi East, Opiyo said Kenya was not Uganda or Rwanda.

"We cannot transform Kenya into another Uganda or Rwanda. If they are doubting our resolve, let them wait for tomorrow (Monday)," he said.

Speaking in an interview with BBC’s Focus on Africa on Friday, Kuria said Raila's use of violence to challenge elections will not work this round.

He said the August 2022 polls were very transparent, pointing out that even the Supreme Court upheld the elections.

"Every time coming to prosecute an election, then it means that we’re going to deal with him the way Kagame deals with his opponents. The way Museveni deals with his opponent. There’s no other way,” Kuria opined.

Elaborating on his statement, Kuria said the two presidents safeguarded the sovereignty and the democracy of their people.

Kuria termed the ongoing mass action rallies as an act of economic terrorism.

Raila had announced that his supporters will hold demos every Monday and Thursday.

At the Sunday service were Raila, Narc Keny Leader Martha Karua, Roots Party leader George Wajackoya, Former Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino among others.
