President William Ruto has unleashed attacks on the Opposition, following the Monday 'chaotic' demonstrations.

"Wanasema njia ya kupunguza hali ya gharama  ni kuvaa sufuria kwa kichwa na kufanya maandamano,"Ruto said on Friday

This translate to: They are saying to reduce the high cost of leaving is to wear sufurias on the head and to demonstrate.

The Head of State questioned how putting on sufurias will reduce the cost of living.

Ruto explained that the cost of living will go down when the farmers get the help they require to have surplus food produced from farms.

He pledged that his government will work hand in hand with the farmers to ensure that food becomes affordable.

The President also said he is ready to work with all leaders to bring development across all regions in the country.

Ruto insisted that there will be no handshake with the opposition and that any engagement will only happen through official channels, including Parliament.

Leaders allied to Ruto have been calling out Raila over his anti-government protests.

They claim that Raila is just using the protests to arm-twist the head of state into a handshake.
