Narok Senator Ledama Olekina now says that change will come to Kenya, whether President William Ruto likes it or not.

Speaking on Monday, the senator insisted that even as the change comes, it will come with peace.

Ledama added that Kenya belongs to over 46 million people and not one individual.

"William Ruto does not own the title deed of Kenya! It belongs to 46+Million Kenyans, so Change must come whether he likes it or not but in Peace," the Narok senator said.

Ledama who is a member of the opposition party ODM has been one of Ruto's biggest critics.

His remarks come in the wake of protests by Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance.

The protests began on Monday morning with sections of the city experiencing heavy police presence.

On Saturday, Raila in an interview said they would peacefully march to State House to present their petitions to President William Ruto.

"We will hand over our petition to the President wherever he will be, but peacefully… If he will be at State House, only two or three people will walk into State House to go and present the petition," he said.

On Sunday, the former Prime Minister called on citizens to awaken the spirit of fighting oppressive regimes as they have done in the past.

He clarified that the match to the president's office is not about any tribe, race or religion, but it's all about the well-being of Kenyans.

Raila said Kenyans who want to be in charge of their fate can do it despite the threats being meted on them.

"My dear Kenyans, I'm not interested in your tribe, your race, your religion, your age. I am only interested in your happiness. We make possible the impossible. We are Kenyans. We set the trend," Raila said.
