Wiper party deputy secretary general Dan Maanzo has said former Interior CS Fred Matiang'i should sue the government.

"There was no law broken, he had no case to answer and everything was done out of malice and the state should apologise," he said.

Recounting his encounter at the DCI, Maanzo said he was denied entry at the DCI headquarters.

"I was there and we were told the former CS was only allowed to go with four lawyers. DCI is a public office and I didn't understand why we were denied entry," he said.

"If we had proper security at Matiang'i 's home, none of the happenings would have transpired," he said.

Haji in a statement said the Directorate of Criminal Investigations failed to provide evidence to sustain two charges levelled against the former CS.
