Raila was pressured by the crowd to include eggs to the list of the products he will ask Kenyans to boycott

"Eggs and other products; my team will tell you that we are not using these products," he added.

Raila, on Thursday, officially declared the beginning of mass action against President William Ruto's government.

Raila said they have invoked the provisions of the Constitution to launch a massive peaceful movement of defiance against an illegal government.

"Take note that on the 20th of March 2023, we have a date with destiny in Nairobi. On that day our supporters throughout the country shall stage a massive procession in Nairobi for a legitimate and inclusive government. Save the date," Raila said.

Migori's rally will mark the first mass action after the Thursday declaration.

In 2017, Raila told Kenyans to boycott newspapers, TV stations, products and services.

He said the affected companies were working with the then regime to sabotage democracy.

"We start a battle for electoral justice where we have a credible election," he said, and repeated that no election will take place so Kenya can be saved from dictatorship," Raila said.

"We call on Kenyans who love democracy to hold vigils and prayers and stay away from polling stations. We are aware that they plan to massacre our people. Let us deny them that chance."
