Solicitor General nominee Shadrack John Mose has revealed that his net worth is Sh250 million.
Speaking while being vetted by the National Assembly on Thursday, Mose said his worth is from shares for his law firm, land and income from rentals he owns.
"My net worth is Sh250 million," he said.
The nominee had appeared for vetting before the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs (JLAC).
He was nominated by President William Ruto to the position on February 13.
Mose rooted for the increase in budgetary allocation for the office to equip the office properly and retain qualified officers.
"This will also enable us (If approved) to engage more state counsels, train them locally and internationally to boost their capacity in dealing with complex issues that may arise," he said.
The nominee had expressed concern over poor working conditions at the office which has led to the resignation of state counsels.
Mose noted that the resignation had continued to undermine service delivery and administration of justice.
He also rooted for rigorous training for the officers to boost their capacity to handle complex legal issues.
“Look at the registrar of marriages section, the environment is not conducive, and the office and other sections are too squeezed. These are some of the issues I want to be addressed” he said.
JLAC is expected to table its report on or before March 9, to enable the House to consider the matter
Mose, who is a former Kitutu Masaba legislator holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Law, from the Kenya School of Law, as well as a Laws Degree from the University of Nairobi.
He is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over 29 years of experience in legal practice.
If approved, Mose will replace Kennedy Ogeto who was appointed to the position in March 2018.
