Former Interior CS Fred Matiang'i says he will not be available for questioning by the DCI on Friday since he is out of the country.

The DCI on Thursday summoned him for interrogation regarding the alleged raid at his Karen home on the night of February 8.

Detective Michael Sang said the former CS should appear before him at Mazingira House at 9.30 am on Friday "without fail."

"I have reasons to believe that you, Dr Fred Matiang'i, the former Cabinet secretary, Ministry of Interior and National Co-ordination, are connected to the offence or have information which can assist me in my investigations," Sang said.

But speaking to the Star shortly afterwards, Matiang'i said his lawyer will handle the matter since he travelled out of the country.

Lawyer Danstan Omari, acting on behalf of the former CS, told the Star on phone that they are yet to be served with the summon.

"My client has not been served according to the law and we don't recognise what we are seeing in social media until we are served properly," Omari said.

Meanwhile, the court on Thursday extended orders barring the police from arresting Matiang'i.

The conservatory orders which were to end on Thursday will now run until April 19 when the matter will come up for mention.

The bone of contention revolves around the alleged raid in which police denied involvement and said they sought a court order to obtain CCTV footage from Matiang'i's home.

The officers broke into his residence on February 15, ransacked the house and left.
