Former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando has asserted that Kenya will remain a united bloc despite its diversity.

He said regardless of Kenya's political, cultural and socio-economic differences, the country will never fall apart as every region is an important part its identity.

"Just like Samburu and Maasai are inseparably of Maa pedigree, there can't be a Kenya without a Mt. Kenya and a Great (Rift) Valley, or a Kenya without a Lake Victoria and an Indian Ocean," he said.

"Our motherland Kenya must remain one indivisible republic."

The former lawmaker was reacting to a social media post by Narok Senator Ledama Olekina.

In the post on Thursday, Olekina insinuated that Kenya will in the future be divided, seemingly along socio-economic and political lines.

"Someday … this country called Kenya will be divided into two!!! Save this tweet," he said.

The Senator followed up with remarks on the wrangles in the Jubilee party, accusing President William of trying to control Parliament.

"Stop this cannibalisation of political parties. Jubilee senators do not constitute a parliamentary party as per our Standing Orders so snap out of it," he said.

A number of opposition MPs have in the past week visited the head of State at State House, Nairobi and pledged to work with him.

Leaders in the Azimio camp have condemned the move and accused the President of trying to kill democracy by weakening the Opposition.

Olekina challenged Ruto to work towards the fulfilment of his promises to Kenyans and prove Azimio wrong.

Ledama said Parliament will soon be rendered powerless if the President continues impending on the Opposition's path.

In a rejoinder, Kabando said for Kenya to remain indivisible, the non-patriotic lot needs to exit from positions of power.
