A storm is brewing within the Jubilee party as Jeremiah Kioni fights back following the ouster by pro-William Ruto MPs.

While interim Jubilee party officials led by acting Secretary General Kanini Kega were on Wednesday expected to take over the management of the party, Kioni insists there is only one communication channel from the party.

In a notice to members through the party's official Twitter account, the party dismissed an earlier communication announcing the induction of new members.

The party said all communications will only come from the official channel until the ongoing fights are resolved.

"Note to the public and our members: Official communication on Party matters will be done on official Party platforms pending the outcome of internal processes to resolve the impasse within the Party," the party said.

The communication was done through a WhatsApp message. The media was invited to cover the induction which was spearheaded by EALA MP Kanini Kega.

"Jubilee Party AG Secretary General Kanini Kega will Wednesday, February 15, 2023, be inducting new office bearers. He will thereafter issue a press statement."

The interim officials are in a meeting at Dik Dik Gardens, off Mandera Road, Nairobi. They are also expected to address the media.

The officials allied to the ruling Kenya Kwanza camp were on Tuesday validated by the Registrar of Political Parties following the suspension of former leaders.

In the changes that were effected by the Jubilee National Executive Council and endorsed by the Registrar of Political Parties Ann Nderitu, Eldas MP Adan Keynan was named the acting national vice-chairperson.

Kitui South MP Rachael Nyamai took charge as the National Treasurer following the ouster of Kagwe Gichohi.

The Jubilee headquarters was last month moved from Pangani to Kileleshwa as the process to kick out retired president Uhuru Kenyatta allies gathered momentum.
