Police are investigating an incident in which a middle-aged man was killed and his body burnt using his clothes in Dandora, Nairobi.

The body of the deceased was found in his house on Sunday night moments after neighbours had seen smoke billowing from his room.

The deceased is said to have been staying with another man who is yet to be found.

According to police who visited the scene, the door of the house was locked from the outside when they arrived there.

This forced them to break in where they found the body covered in a heap of clothes that had been set on fire.

Police said the body was found with some slight burns and blood was oozing from the nose.

Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said they suspect the man was killed in the house before the killer tried to burn the scene to conceal evidence.

“We are investigating a case of murder and we believe there is a motive. We are yet to get a suspect but we are following leads,” he said.

He said an autopsy will be conducted on the body to tell how he died. This will be done after the man is identified.

In Karuri, Kiambu, along the main Banana-Kiambaa Road within Kiambaa village, the body of a 39-year-old man was found lying dead beside the road with a deep stab wound on the left side of the chest.

Police suspect, he was killed at the scene.

No arrest has been made so far.
