Man in court for illegally grazing sheep at City Park Forest

He is said to have decided to graze his livestock without a legal permit

A man who sneaked his 70 sheep into the famous City Park Forest to graze them has been charged in court.

Saire Lemaguram was charge before Kibera senior resident magistrate Renee Kitagwa where he pleaded guilty to the charges.

The court heard that the accused person committed the offence on January 18 at City Park Forest in Westlands, Nairobi.

He is said to have decided to graze his livestock without getting a legal permit from the authorities.

The accused person was arrested by game rangers who were on patrol when they spotted the said animals grazing in the forest.

The rangers also spotted the accused person and asked him to show any documentation allowing him to graze his livestock in the forest.

The accused person failed to show authorisation.

The animals were confiscated and the accused arrested.

The accused however said he is sorry and pleaded for leniency.

He will be sentenced on Friday.
