Wetangula urges female MPs to use CDF, NGAAF to benefit public

He said they are great resources for fighting societal inequalities

National Assembly speaker Moses Wetangula has asked women legislators to use the NG-CDF and the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) for the public.

While speaking during the Kenya Women Parliamentary Association (KEWOPA) induction workshop in Naivasha, he said women leaders should tap into it.

“The National Government Constituency Development Fund is a key resource where respective women leaders can tap from to provide development to the society,” he said.

He said the Fund has been very instrumental in uplifting the lives of the people including the upgrading of social and educational facilities.

“Through the Fund, we have seen many young Kenyans access education with ease through the administration of Bursaries,” he said.

He urged the legislators to keep their eyes on the ground to ensure that these other public resources are properly utilized to the last cent to achieve the objectives of serving and improving the lives of the people.

He said the funds have in the past decade addressed, and currently continue to address the needs of vulnerable groups in our society as envisioned in its inception.

“NGAAF is a great resource which should be guarded and used adequately to address inequalities in our society, geared towards enhancing access to financial facilities for socio-economic empowerment among vulnerable groups,” he concluded.
