With just four days to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, predictions have started pouring in from football fanatics around the world on the likely winners of the tournament.

The competition will kick off on Sunday, November 20 through to December 18 when the ultimate winner of the FIFA prize money will be determined in the last of the 64 matches lined up.

Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has placed his money on all time record winners Brazil to take the grand prize and touted African champions Senegal to advance to the round of 16.

"I believe that Brazil will win this 2022 World Cup and that Senegal will impress enough to qualify from Group A to the round of 16," Khalwale said in a statement on Wednesday.

Senegal, the reigning AFCON champions, are pooled in Group A alongside hosts Qatar, Ecuador and the Netherlands.

In keeping with tradition, Qatar as the host nation will open the tournament with a match against Ecuador at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor.

Senegal will play their first group game when they face the Netherlands on Monday, November 21.

As is customary, the inaugural match of the 22nd edition of the World Cup will be preceded by an opening ceremony.

The tournament is being held in the Middle East for the first time in World Cup's history amid controversy over human rights violation by the Gulf nation.
